For the last night of a two week roadtrip visiting family and friends I decided to camp at one of my favourite places in the mountains – Geehi Flats in Mount Kosciuszko National Park. I am recharged and rejuvenated and ready to be back into work again now.
I camped just a few steps away from here – this was my morning view. The sound of the water running of the rocks at night was the best lullaby
(Just a little iphone pic of a special part of my night and I wrote a little something) –
“Look at me look at me I have antlers of gold. Look at me look at me with my blue fringed dress
as I twist and twirl and make your cheeks flush
What are thinking there on your rug? What your thinking there girl?
Come closer come closer and stand up tall. Leave your cares on the rug and
Spread your arms full- reach up -reach up close your eyes
Oh yes you hear it too – the water sprites laughing with glee as they ride on by so fast and free
Now look up look up
up so high – millions of stars shine bright for us tonight
Now turn back to me
and take my hand in this dance. I’ll let you you’ll see
– surrender just be.
Just be …..”

I was woken by a sound of grunting and couldn’t work out what it was – it sounded a little like koalas but it turned out to be a kangaroo. I’d never heard them make that noise before

The local indigenous people say the highest points of the Snowy Mountains are where the spirits dance. Many storylines from across the country intersect or end there.

Book art from my friend Ronnie. She gave this to me on my trip. When I looked at it here on my backshelf of the car with the trees reflecting in the window I felt it was so appropriate – made from an old atlas as I do love to travel

a little selfie at this place that I love
