A Saturday afternoon with the Willoughby Family

“We do have a bit of a family motto/mantra:  “Fun, Gentle and Kind”  if anything we do doesn’t fall into one of those categories – we don’t do it.

Max was named after our favourite childhood book “ Where the wild things are”, which as a kid is a book about a boy and monsters, but as we grow up, we realise its about love and family and knowing that home is where everything is safe and warm and right.  My two fave quotes from that story are :·         “And the wild things roared their terrible roars and gnashed their terrible teeth and rolled their terrible eyes and showed their terrible claws.”
“But the wild things cried, “Oh please don’t go- We’ll eat you up- we love you so!”
Both boys adore this story now, and it’s on high rotate in their reading library.
Gus was named after a band we liked ( Gus Gus ) and a particular song of theirs but there aren’t any family appropriate lyrics in that song!”
