Farsi class at the mosque

Every Sunday morning children (aged 5-17 years old) of the Afghan community in Shepparton gather at the Nabi Akram mosque to learn Farsi. To many of them this is the language of their parents and their grandparents. To help with communication and not to loose their language Zahra Khademi and her colleagues started a Farsi school. The classes are held at the mosque so the children learn that the mosque is place of education and prayer.
