Go see the street pianos in Melbourne – we did !

A day off work – Yesterday Jaiman and I had a musical day. We started with the open day at the Australian Institute of Music, and were inspired by many ex students, teachers and guests. One in particular was the amazing Sam Westphalen. We went to the open day as Jaiman is REALLY into music and I thought it might inspire him. He is learning to produce electronic music and also guitar. This year he is also going to learn keyboard so we went and visited the Street Pianos in Melbourne. It was heaps of fun just wandering and finding one piano after another, watching others play, some with lots of experience and others just having a go, some happy to have a conversation and others deep in their own little world. Whilst he was playing on one piano a passer by stopped and offered to show him a little bit, it turned out she was a piano teacher. She was there with her daughter. I loved that she took time out to show Jaiman a bit. We had a great day out in Melbourne.

If you can,  go see the Street Pianos go now, they are only in Melbourne until January 27th. There are 24 pianos around town for anyone to play. Go to the website to find out where and to find out heaps of other stuff. www.streetpianos.com/melbourne2014/
