Ignite Sound Project Album Launch

IGNITE SOUND PROJECT ALBUM LAUNCH
Some of Shepparton, Echuca and Melbourne’s freshest upcoming young artists took the stage for a night of original urban sounds and flavours at Shepparton’s African House. With self produced beats, rhymes and catchy hooks and a good dose of straight up swagga, they told stories of struggle and resilience, and of love, hopes and dreams – a journey from our roots in Yorta Yorta country, to African and gospel inspired hip hop music and dance, to the smooth vocals and soul of the Pacific Islands.

The event launched the debut Ignite Sound Project album and music videos and featured performances by Shepparton locals Dorcas, Pro E, Vince the Kid, TheRealKingRose, Lil J & Yung Del, Johnny Cross, Logic, Cheryl Simaika, Ruby Davies, AA Dance Fever, Lauren & Danielle, Alicia and Claudia, Echuca’s own Madi Colville Walker, Wodonga’s Unity Dance Group and visiting from Melbourne Titan Debirioun, Jacki Tut, Sene Smalley, Sefa Stewart, Silao Stanzlaus, Peta Crombe, DJ BillWill and Francois.

Produced by Multicultural Arts Victoria and St. Paul’s African House, the event was part of a unique youth music mentoring program in Shepparton, Ignite Sound Sessions. Inspired by successful city based program Dig Deep at the Arts Centre, Ignite provides a creative, collective working environment for young artists to learn from professional artists and producers, to explore their creativity, share stories and ideas, develop skills in songwriting, arranging and recording, and experiment with new sounds.

Australia Council for the Arts, Creative Victoria, Gandel Philanthropy
