There really is nothing like a family road trip. It’s one of my favourite things to do. This was our Summer road trip. It was the first time I’d driven to the coast via Mt. Hotham and the Alpine National Park and up to Ben’s. It was an amazing drive with the kids listening to music (mostly reggae), laughing and fun !
We headed SE from Shepparton to Mt Hotham, next stop Bittangabee Bay Campground, near Green Cape, then up to Ben’s (near Quaama), and headed home via Snowy Mountains Hwy with a stop at Yarrangobilly Caves & Thermal Pool. A beautiful trip that I would highly recommend
Not a bad lunch stop on the side of the road near Mt. Hotham
Bittangabee Bay, near Green Cape, Ben Boyd National Park, NSW
We LOVE to play boardgames
These goannas were pretty full on. They wouldn’t leave you alone in the morning when you were trying to eat, just like the possums in the night time. We did think they were cute at first but they were really persistent
Green Cape Lighthouse – a short drive from Bittangabee Bay campground
Zentangle time
There is nothing like an outside shower – bliss!
Floating in water is one of my most favourite things to do……. sometimes I even fall asleep
Yarrongobilly Caves – it was great to take the kids here for the first time. I hadn’t been here since I was a teenager. It was a really really hot day so the caves were a welcome retreat.
Thermal pool, Yarrangobilly
Jamile also did a blog post of our trip so I encourage you to also have a look at this link http://jamilekirri.com/2014/02/13/summer-road-trip/Â
Photos on both my blog post and Jamile’s blog post have been photographed collectively by Jamile, Jaiman, Ben & I – the beauty of us all having a love and knowledge of photography 🙂
I have many trips from 2012/2013 that still haven’t been edited but I thought I’d work backwards. I hope to share with you more over the coming months. I love our roadtrips and sharing with you so perhaps it may inspire you to visit there too.

It was so great to be able to edit some of my own family. I have about 2 years worth of other photos that I still have not got to, so I really really hope to do that in Winter. I LOVE our family time and yes full of life and love for sure. Thank you for taking the time to look at such a big blog post. xo
Lea - Fabulous photography 🙂
I grew up in Eden – I hope you popped in for a visit! 🙂 x
Liz - Thank you Lea. That whole area is beautiful. What a wonderful place for you to grow up. We stopped in at Eden, rather dusty from camping but had lunch by the boats, it was so peaceful. 🙂
