You are invited to an exhibition on Friday
A group of women are learning to sew whilst practicing their English and making friends at a multicultural sewing group in Shepparton. They not only learn new skills but this truly helps with building their self confidence.
I invite to you to join us at an exhibition showcasing their sewing creations including a photographic exhibition of their journey on Friday October 3rd 10.30-1pm at the Sacred Space on 136 Maude St, Shepparton. Volunteer Jo says “The idea of teaching them confidence in making things themselves so that they can redo it again at home and to watch their faces when they have actually accomplished something is just beautiful. We’ve noticed their level of self confidence has improved, their level of self worth has improved, their English is improving. It’s just a great class. It’s really good fun. “
Khadiga says – “I like to learning sewing – woman clothes and man clothes and kids clothes. I love it, I feel happy. I am making friends. I am very happy to learning sewing, to learning English, a little bit of English.”
